Our consultants are highly experienced and qualified Physiotherapists/Ergonomists who specialise in workplace ergonomics and injury prevention.
We offer two types of workplace ergonomic assessments in Melbourne - Individual Ergonomic Assessments or Ergonomic Assessment Sweeps. Please see below for more details.

Individual Ergonomic Assessments are for employees who have an existing injury or have provided you (the employer) with a medical certificate requesting an ergonomic assessment.

Ergonomic Assessment Sweeps are proactive ergonomic assessments of an entire workplace or department, aimed at preventing issues before they arise.

If you would like a quote for an ergonomic assessment or ergonomic sweep, please complete the form here.

If your employees are working from home and you would like ergonomic assessments of their home office, please see our online ergonomic assessments here, or our home office ergonomic assessments here.

Individual Ergonomic Assessments

Individual ergonomic assessments are required if an employee is already injured, regularly reports pain or discomfort at their workstation, or has presented their employer with a medical certificate requesting an ergonomic assessment.

What is included in an Individual Ergonomic Assessment?

  • An in-depth assessment by a qualified and experienced Physiotherapist who specialises in workplace ergonomics and workplace injury prevention. The assessment includes a discussion with the employee about their injury, as well as an assessment of the workstation.
  • All necessary adjustments to the employees' workstation.
  • A detailed report provided to your nominated HR/OHS representative outlining our findings, and any additional recommendations, such as preventative exercises or ergonomic equipment.
  • Follow up as required.

Time required for an Individual Ergonomic Assessment?

We will require approximately 30 minutes of time with your employee onsite to perform a thorough Individual Ergonomic Assessment. We will then compile our report offsite and provide it to you within 24 hours.

Cost?

$275 + gst in metro Melbourne, $325 + gst out of metro Melbourne.

Ergonomic Assessment Sweeps

Ergonomic assessment sweeps involve a brief ergonomic assessment of all workstations in a workplace or department. Ergonomic sweeps are preventative in nature and aimed at preventing injuries from occurring by ensuring your employees' workstations are set up ergonomically, thereby improve safety and comfort, as well as productivity.

Ergonomic sweeps are ideal if there have been any recent office modifications such as a re-fit or relocation, or as a general preventative tool to improve staff wellness.

What is included in an Ergonomic Assessment Sweep?

  • An approx. 15 minute ergonomic assessment of each workstation within your workplace, conducted by a qualified and experienced Physiotherapist who specialises in workplace ergonomics.
  • Appropriate changes to your employees' workstations on the day of the assessments.
  • A report outlining any further recommendations for any of the employees assessed (NB: If we feel that an employee would benefit from a particular piece of equipment, this will not be discussed with the employee. Instead, it will be provided to you in the report).

Time required for an Ergonomic Assessment Sweep?

We require approximately 15 minutes with each employee at their workstation.

What is an Ergonomic Assessment?

Ergonomic assessments consider the relationship that an individual has with all of the equipment and furniture at his or her workstation, such as the chair position, desk height, computer screen, etc. Environmental factors such as lighting, glare, noise and temperature are also be considered when applicable.

An ergonomic assessment ensures that your employees' workstation is set up in a way that suits his or her individual health needs, improving comfort and reducing the risk of an overuse injury developing. The added benefit for your organisation is improved productivity and fewer sick days.

Recently we have had Jordan from The Ergonomic Physio come out and do both ergonomic assessments for our admin team and manual handling training for all of our educators. Not only is Jordan professional, knowledgeable and thorough, he also came up with innovative ideas and solutions when working with our team, who have different manual handling needs, as they work with children and not in an office. Jordan then supported us with sourcing the best equipment to meet our needs. On top of all of this Jordan is also extremely friendly and personable. I couldn’t recommend him and The Ergonomic Physio highly enough

We have engaged Jordan at The Ergonomic Physio to complete in person manual handling training and ergonomic assessments both in person and online for our staff working from home. Jordan has been fantastic to work with. He is responsive and demonstrates extensive knowledge in workplace injury prevention. Jordan takes the time to tailor sessions specifically to our organisation to make it relevant to the work that our staff do and the initiatives that we are rolling out as part of our general health and wellbeing program. We highly recommend Jordan to any organisation invested in improving the health and safety of their employees and look forward to working with him in the future.
